Tim Willits, a lead game designer at id software, let slip a few tidbits of information at QuakeCon 2006 a few weeks back. The next id game won’t be another Quake or Doom game, in fact it won’t even be another trademark indoor first person shooter that id is known for. "We are actually holding back a bit because we want to have a lot more CPU power for the gameplay, for the interaction, for the AI, for the driving, for all those types of things." said Tim Willits at the con. It seems that id is going to be focusing less on cutting-edge graphics, and more on gameplay elements like AI and physics.
