But camera film has a nonlinear response to light, which linear tone mapping won't match.
Hi Nick ..
i knew i had it right in my mind but i wasn't sure ...
--> wiki is sure here ;-)..
Wiki says:
In the ISO linear scale, which corresponds to the older ASA scale, doubling the speed of a film (that is, halving the amount of light that is necessary to expose the film) implies doubling the numeric value that designates the film speed. In the ISO logarithmic scale, which corresponds to the older DIN scale, doubling the speed of a film implies adding 3° to the numeric value that designates the film speed. For example, a film rated ISO 200/24° is twice as sensitive as a film rated ISO 100/21°.
i'm using max7, well i just did some tests and found out that meshsmooth has nothing to do with it, it's when i use a standard material with the specular level up that makes the reflections tesselated. the scene was made before when the last few exporter versions came out so i'll just change them to plastic material. thanks

Ok cool ... after all i think we should switch to Indigo Materials as
i will drop standard soon...Indigo Materials provide a far better control.
