In case you\'ve been living under a rock you\'ve probably heard of the new offering from ATI, reviewed here and here. While it\'s not really a gaming card, and by that I mean in terms of price, not performance, it\'s probably a good indication of things to come. While a lot of people have questioned the need for such an awsome memory capacity, I think this is mostly a knee-jerk reaction to hearing GB and Video Card in the same sentence for the first time. High-end visualization workstations could certainly benefit from this puppy, but if a certain title from two years ago looks noticably superior with 512 MB of video ram, it doesn\'t take a stretch of the imagination to see how 1 GB will become mainstream amongst gamers in five years.
